Australia, Recruitment Brokerage
In 2009 more than four thousand recruitment agencies were registered throughout Australia. Each agency had an average compliment of seventeen recruitment consultants working for them.
This means at the time of writing there were approximately 68,000 Recruitment Consultants in the country.
The most recent data from The Australian Bureau of Statistics puts the country’s official population at 20,560,821. According to the Federal Minister for Employment and Workplace Relations Office, 64.8 percent of the population are actively participating in the workplace (as at June 2006), translating to 13,302,851 workers.
An analysis of this published data suggests that in Australia there is approximately one Recruitment Consultant for every 195 workers, making it quite possibly the most over-supplied industry in the country.
Basic economics suggest that when an industry is so significantly over-supplied, consolidation must occur and another tier will naturally emerge. In early 1999, RSP came to the view that traditional recruitment- agency methods were more often than not, entirely inefficient.
Essentially, each recruitment company was charging the same fee for the same work, performing in the same way, and producing the same person in the same long timeframe.
Businesses were using an average of thirty to fifty agencies to source candidates all at the same time. It was not uncommon for some candidates to turn up at different times for the same job interview represented by multiple competing agencies.
RSP researched and developed a national alliance-partner network of forty-five small to medium industry-specialist recruitment agencies, all of which provided the company with access to unique databases of niche, hard to find candidates.
Next RSP presented its bold, innovative recruitment business model to several globally renowned ICT companies with significant national operations in Australia. Seizing the initiative and the prospect of significantly improving recruitment efficiencies, RSP signed exclusive, all-encompassing recruitment contracts with two of Australia’s best known employers. The new groundbreaking model of ‘Recruitment Brokerage’ was born.
Today, RSP is Australia’s leading and fastest growing recruitment company. Since inception, RSP has been successfully placing people for the country’s leading corporates and Employees of Choice including:
- Nokia,
- Microsoft,
- Hutchison 3,
- IBM, Telecom NZ and
- Unisys.
The company mandate has never been to merely provide average service to a large number of clients but rather the provision of exceptional service to a limited number of key national accounts on an exclusive or semi-exclusive basis.
RSP essentially provides hiring managers of contracted clients across Australia with a single point of contact, a quality-driven double-filtering process for presented candidates, and broader marketplace access to high-calibre applicants. All while eliminating the necessity to brief multiple competing agencies.
RSP’s Recruitment Brokerage model saves employers 10-20 work hours per candidate per job placement and reduces the time taken to identify and assess candidates by up to 90%, without additional cost.
